Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request
Performs a variety of technical procedures to support physicians diagnosis
Responsible for providing high quality imaging
Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
Reviews physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
Retrieve studies from PACS for review
Perform appropriate infection control processes
Provide an environment of care that supports patient safety
Addresses patient educational needs as pertains to requested studies
Prepare patients for the study
Supports IAC Standards and Guidelines
Assures accuracy data for clinical reports demographics and billing information for physician reports
Support team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a team approach to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department.
