Senior Manufacturing Design Engineer-Orthopaedics

DePuy Synthes seeks a Senior Manufacturing Design Engineer to design and release production tooling, fixtures, and test stations for orthopaedic manufacturing in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The role involves advanced CAD modeling, tolerance analysis, prototype validation, and cross-functional collaboration to enable safe, repeatable manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and release production tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and automated test stations for manufacturing
- Create complete 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and BOMs with manufacturing specifications and vendor details
- Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure fixture repeatability and interchangeability under production loads
- Lead prototype builds and pilot trials; conduct first-article checks and design iterations to meet cycle-time and quality targets
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and process engineering teams to verify manufacturability and operator ergonomics
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related field
- Minimum 7 years of advanced CAD design, drafting, or equivalent engineering experience
- Proficiency in CREO, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software
- Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with tolerance stack-ups, FEA, and fixture design validation
- Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, and ISO standards
- Medical device industry experience preferred
