Duties & Responsibilities:                                                           

·     Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guest feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.

·     Inform guests of specials and menu changes.

·     Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.

·     Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy, following the system of food and drinks.

·     Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.

·     Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our POS system which relays orders to the kitchen and coffee bar.

·     Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.

·     Perform opening and closing responsibilities as required by service station assignments.

·     Maintain clean service areas.

·     Communicate with kitchen team.

·     Upsell by offering appetizers, desserts, drinks to go, pastries or eggs from grab and go. 

·     Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteous to any requests.

·     Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change.

·     Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.

·     Clean and reset tables after guests have left. Remove dirty dishes and cups from tables after guests are finished with them.

·     Talk to guests always in a kind tone with manners.

·     Assist in completing weekly and monthly cleaning lists.

·     Balance your cash drawer at the end of shift and maintain accuracy.  

·     Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.

·     Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the FOH Lead or Café Manager.

·     Follow dress code policy and maintain clean attire through entire shift.

·     Communicate effectively with FOH team to ensure excellent customer service.

·     Communicate and mark all guest orders with allergens and special requests.

·     Anticipate the guests needs.

·     Use FIFO system when restocking.

·     Keep station stocked to ensure efficient and effective service to our guests.

Qualifications:                                                                                

·     Be able to multitask.

·     Be fully trained as a host, barista, and customer care at the café.

·     Have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.

·     Possess basic math skills and can handle money and operate a POS system.

·     Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).

·     Be able to safely and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20-25 pounds.

·     Be able to work smoothly in a team environment.

·     Be able to keep a calm composure during difficult and busy times.
