Physician Assistant - General Surgery (casual) - Edina, MN

Job Overview Fairview is seeking a Casual General Surgery Physician Assistant to join the General Surgery team at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This is a casual position and will work on an as needed basis to help cover leave of absences on the core team. In this role, you will work closely with a well-established community General Surgery group and an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers (APP), caring for patients with a diverse range of general, breast, surgical oncology, reflux, abdominal wall reconstruction, colon surgery and bariatric disorders. Practice Details Surgical patient care for a wide variety of conditions such as breast, oncologic, colon, foregut, complex hernia, endocrine, and bariatric in addition to general surgery Inpatient care including admissions and consults, daily rounding, operative assist, and discharge planning and education Provide first assist in the operating room Casual (as needed) scheduling Daytime hours: Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Additional weekend shift opportunities available Community Information M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN is an established and vibrant community known for its excellent schools, beautiful neighborhoods, thriving shopping and dining districts, and strong commitment to quality of life. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant training program BC/BE through the NCCPA Licensed or ability to obtain licensure through Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges Experience in a Surgical practice is required Benefit Overview Fairview offers malpractice and retirement benefits for our casual staff. Compensation Disclaimer The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Positions with the same min/max are flat rate jobs based on 1.0 FTE. Compensation plans based on production can allow for higher pay than the range posted. $80 per hour, flat rate.
