Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Monitor patient's medical and psychiatric condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care
• Observe and interpret patient's symptoms and communicate with MD/NP
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
• Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and function calmly in situations, which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
• Perform routine procedures (vital signs, accu checks, assess pain, administering injections etc.) and document in patients' charts
• Adjust and administer patient's medication and provide treatments according to physician's orders
• Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, PPE etc.)
• Provide prompt, efficient, and responsive service.
• Understand and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information. Implementing evidence-based practices
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Supervise and/or train LPNs, PCTs or CNAs
• Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Active and unrestricted Registered License in Illinois
• Experience in Mental Health, Eating Disorder and/or Substance use preferred
• Proficiency in applying compliance standards, procedures and techniques is required with patient care.
• Understand and remain compliant with HIPAA regulations
• Understand and abide by SUPR (DASA) requirements as it relates to patient care regarding substance use
• Strong professional attitude and ability to work with and communicate effectively with all staff.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques used in the care and treatment of psychiatric patients.
