Associate Scientist, Pilot Plant

Associate Scientist position in pilot plant operations focused on scaling upstream and downstream biologics processes. Collaborates with process development and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, scalable processes for clinical and commercial supply.
Responsibilities
- Execute non-GMP pilot-scale lab operations including bioreactor, chromatography, and filtration setups
- Prepare and review technical documents such as batch records, campaign reports, and standard operating procedures
- Evaluate and implement innovative process technologies within pilot plant operations
- Support cross-functional teams on process investigations, scale-up, and technology transfer activities
- Track and compare scale-up performance data against bench-scale results for process development
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related biologics field
- 2-4 years industry experience in process development, pilot operations, GMP manufacturing, or related field
- Strong knowledge of upstream or downstream unit operations and bioreactor processes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Prior experience with single-use manufacturing and automation preferred
- Working knowledge of cGMP preferred
- Knowledge of statistics, design of experiment, and data analysis preferred
Compensation: $89,330 - $108,243
