You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. About the role Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and support the development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and assess need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats. How you will contribute Determine donor eligibility; properly manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of SPE. Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including coordination with Center Physician and emergency transport. Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health or ER. When authorized by EHS, serve as Pandemic Coordinator and support investigations related to pandemic threats. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years in a clinical or hospital setting. We are committed to equitable pay for all employees and strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. U.S. hourly wage range: $38.72–$53.24. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualification, experience, skills, education, certifications, location, and local minimum wage requirements.
