Senior Automation Developer

Job Summary:
The Senior Automation Developer is responsible for identifying automation opportunities within software processes and designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts. This role collaborates closely with QA analysts and software developers to improve software quality through effective automation frameworks and testing methodologies. Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for automation within software development and QA processes.
- Design and write automated test scripts for UI, API, and performance testing.
- Utilize and maintain test automation frameworks and tools.
- Execute automated tests and analyze results to identify software defects.
- Collaborate with QA analysts, developers, and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve workflows.
- Document automation requirements and solutions based on user and stakeholder input.
- Investigate software problems arising from testing activities.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or WebDriverIO for UI testing.
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.
- Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
- Strong programming/scripting skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Solid understanding of test frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, Mocha) and BDD tools (Cucumber, SpecFlow).
- Ability to analyze manual test cases to identify automation candidates.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
- Deep knowledge of software testing lifecycle (STLC) and QA methodologies.
- Experience developing data-driven, keyword-driven, or hybrid automation frameworks.
- Prior experience in public sector or OPS environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Analytical and systematic problem-solving capabilities.
