Industrial Seamstress / Sewer

Industrial SewerSportsman Boats is looking for an Industrial Sewer who will be responsible for creating quality cushions for our premium boats. This involves cutting, measuring, and sewing, and ensuring an efficient manufacturing process for marine seating, including fabricating, repairing, and replacing seat upholstery, as well as complete seat-building duties. This is a full-time position. Our schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Hours may vary based on the needs of the company.What you will do:Operate sewing machine to create high-quality cushions meeting daily/weekly production numbers of units.Sewing machine setup (changing thread, bobbins, and needles as needed.)Single needle prepping and joiningCreate and cut patternsInspect cushions for defects, damage, or stainsMark products, work pieces, or equipment with identifying informationCompare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards.Maintain a safe and clean work environmentExecute additional duties and responsibilities as assignedTo be considered, you must have:Industrial sewing and or home sewing experience of one or more years required, must be able to pass the sewing testMust be able to make and read patterns and be able to work with leather, vinyl, and foam rubberKnowledgeable in the areas of material cutting, sewing, upholstery, and foam assemblyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDetail-oriented, proactive, and able to complete tasks independently with minimal supervisionAdvanced verbal communication skillsAdvanced time management and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentHigh School diploma or equivalentPreferred Education and Experience:Experience sewing vinyl or leather in a fast-paced manufacturing facilityBilingual English/SpanishWhy should you consider joining the Sportsman team?We promote from within on a regular and consistent basisEvery employee is offered lean manufacturing and 5S trainingSportsman Boats is proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer.
