Overview Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic. The role involves preventive maintenance, diagnosing, and advanced repairs at customer locations. The fleet includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment, with specialty locations that may have large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil/gas related equipment. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose repairs on equipment at customer sites Complete advanced repairs in the safest, most effective way to minimize downtime Work with a diverse fleet across different makes and models, including specialty lines as location requires Assist with or develop skills for a career track in service or operation management Collaborate with a safety-focused team in dynamic, remote locations Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training preferred 1–2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or Oil & Gas) preferred Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (21+ and CDL license may be required in some locations) Mechanic tools of the trade may be required; knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment Bilingual ability (Spanish or other) may be required based on location Physical ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors/outdoors as required Additional Information The above description is not a complete listing of all duties and responsibilities and may be amended as needed.
