Pay as Cross Country posts it: about $2,360 a week in all, a taxable rate of $24.32 an hour plus $1,484 a week in housing and meal stipends.

Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Spokane Valley, WA. The position provides care for progressive care and medical-surgical patients, including individuals with respiratory, cardiac, medical, and surgical conditions. The role requires strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills, clinical assessment capabilities, and the ability to float between designated patient-care areas within scope of practice.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of true telemetry or progressive care experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; proficiency with high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, peripheral intravenous starts and maintenance, wound care, wound vacuums, drains, nephrostomy tubes, pain management, patient-controlled analgesia, central line management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
• Preferred Qualifications: Charge experience is preferred, with the opportunity to take on a charge role during the assignment.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; 36 hours per week; every other weekend rotation; one holiday per contract; no scheduled on-call requirement.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The position supports progressive care and medical-surgical patients throughout the healthcare facility, including respiratory, cardiac, medical, surgical, and orthopedic populations. Progressive care assignments include higher-acuity patients requiring frequent assessments, while medical-surgical assignments may include patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, sepsis, renal conditions, thromboembolic conditions, cellulitis, pancreatitis, and postoperative needs. Patient ratios are approximately 1:3 in progressive care and 1:5 in medical-surgical areas. A cardiac rhythm interpretation examination is required during the compliance process. Orientation includes classroom training, skills validation, and unit-based orientation across three units. Solid-color professional scrubs are required.
