Job Title: Automation Engineer (Laboratory) – NGS / Liquid Biopsy

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Automation Engineer with a strong interest or hands-on experience in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) , laboratory automation , and liquid handling systems to join our growing team. You'll help design, optimize, and support automated workflows that improve the efficiency, scalability, and precision of our sequencing pipeline — working cross-functionally with lab operations, IT, and quality teams. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support automated liquid handling systems for NGS assays
• Assist in translating and optimizing manual laboratory processes onto automated platforms
• Provide training and technical support during rollout of new automated methods
• Author and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and quality documentation for regulatory compliance
• Support instrument configuration documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and change control
• Complete quality documentation and ensure adherence to internal and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Facilities, and Lab Operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, or a related field
• 1–3+ years of laboratory automation, biotech, or NGS-related experience (recent graduates with strong internship/research automation experience welcome to apply)
• Experience or familiarity with Hamilton liquid handling systems and Venus software preferred; scheduling software experience a plus
• Exposure to lab automation platforms and instrumentation (e.g., Agilent, Bio-Rad, Thermo Fisher ) and lab software (e.g., BIOlims ) preferred
• Understanding of barcoding, labware management, and sample traceability tools
• Interest in process development, scale-up, and troubleshooting within a lab or manufacturing setting
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to document technical processes clearly
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and configuration management concepts (CLIA/CAP a plus)
