Major Responsibilities / Essential Functions Assist licensed personnel in keeping the department running smoothly by performing therapeutic activities within scope of on‑job training and with on‑site supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant. Provide therapy care to inpatients and outpatients within scope of documented on‑job training and with onsite supervision. Essential therapeutic care includes moist heat, cryotherapy, massage, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, whirlpool, intermittent cervical/pelvic traction, and therapeutic exercise. Perform daily clerical and office duties, including outpatient scheduling, photocopying, filing charts and records, and placing completed notes in patient charts. Report to work on time, complete work within designated time, and use the computerized time clock correctly. Attend staff meetings, read and return all staff meeting minutes, and actively participate. Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Demonstrate understanding of procedures for reporting and responding to facility emergencies such as fire, utility disruption, and hazardous material spills. Demonstrate knowledge of equipment capabilities, limitations, and appropriate/special applications. Demonstrate ability to access and use computer systems. Communicate with physicians, administrative staff, co‑workers, and patients/families in a respectful and caring manner. Project a positive professional image, perform responsibilities professionally, and use a collaborative approach with co‑workers. Adapt to changing assignments, staffing levels, and patient care environments and complete work on time. Consistently demonstrate critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Assist department management in resolving and evaluating problem situations. Assume other duties as required. Job Qualifications Minimum Education High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum Work Experience And Qualifications One or more years of experience working under the supervision of a licensed therapist. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must be able to work in a union environment. Required Licensure, Certification, Registration Or Designation Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate from the American Health Association (AHA). Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire). Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire). Shift and Hours Status: Part Time (PT2) Shift: Days Hours: 8 hours (8:00 am – 4:30 pm) Weekly/Bi‑Weekly Hours: 8‑16 hours (varied)/24 hours
