Job Summary PRN ER RN – Level IV Trauma Center. PRN positions are for motivated and available registered nurses who can work flexible shifts, ideally a minimum of 3 shifts per month. Recent relevant ER experience (minimum 2 years) and a commitment to quality patient care are required. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Exemplary Practice and Outcomes Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence-based practice and individualized care plans. Deliver patient‑centered, relationship‑based care that considers population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity. Partner with patients and significant others via appropriate methods (e.g., bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching) to keep goals focused on patient outcomes. Apply current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care that promotes a professional delivery model. Demonstrate teamwork and fiscal responsibility, supporting recruitment and retention of the healthcare team. Participate in performance improvement, research, and shared governance at all system levels. Professional Development and Initiative Complete initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education. Serve as preceptor/mentor for other professional nurses and for staff or students across disciplines. Evidence‑Based Practice and Research Promote and participate in evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Uphold health‑care system policies, procedures, clinical competencies, and regulatory requirements. Collect data, pose relevant clinical questions, and consult experts to address practice questions. Resources and Support Plan patient care across the continuum while providing direct patient care. Participate in protocol and procedure development to achieve best practice outcomes. Support efficient use of human and material resources. Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Associate’s Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelor’s Nursing – Preferred Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support Instructor RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – RN Multi‑State Compact PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support or ARC‑PALS – American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS‑I – Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor or PALS‑P – PALS Provisional (180 days within 180 days) TNCC – Trauma Nurse Core Course or ATCN – Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses Certification or TNCC‑P – Trauma Nurse Core Course Provisional (18 months within 18 months) ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC‑ALS – American Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS‑I – ACLS Instructor or ACLS‑P – ACLS Provisional (180 days within 180 days) Required Minimum Experience Completion of an accredited/approved school of nursing with required clinical hours. Experience with direct patient care is preferred.
