Surgical Technologist General Vascular OR

The Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech) in the General/Vascular Operating Room is responsible for providing skilled technical support during surgical procedures, with a focus on orthopedics, neurology, and vascular surgeries. This role requires a highly experienced professional capable of managing a broad range of surgical instrumentation and central processing tasks. The Surg Tech collaborates closely with surgical teams to ensure patient safety, sterile field maintenance, and efficient operation room workflow. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the operating room environment for surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, neurological, and vascular cases.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sponges, and other sterile supplies during surgery.
• Ensure proper sterilization and functioning of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols throughout procedures.
• Participate in preoperative and postoperative room setup and breakdown.
• Manage surgical supplies inventory and restock as necessary.
• Respond promptly to surgical emergencies and assist in crisis situations.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain documentation related to surgical procedures and instrument usage.

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of surgical technology experience, including orthopedics, neurology, and vascular surgery.
• Excellent critical thinking and knowledge of central processing and surgical instrumentation.
• Ability to maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred but not required.

• Must be able to respond to call within 30 minutes of notification.
• Approximately every 5th weekend on call, split between two call groups.
• 1-2 on-call shifts per week, with potential for increased call volume based on staffing needs.
• Possible holiday call rotation depending on patient census and staffing.
• Minimal return to office (RTO) requirements prioritized.

• 40 hours per week, either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts.
• Start and end times are negotiable and will be agreed upon during the interview process.
