Registered Nurse-Stepdown Overflow

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and detail‑oriented Registered Nurse – Stepdown Overflow to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered nursing care to adult and geriatric patients who require a level of monitoring and intervention between intensive care and general medical‑surgical units. You will admit, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients placed in our stepdown overflow setting, often those with complex medical conditions, continuous cardiac or hemodynamic monitoring needs, and evolving clinical status. Working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, you will administer medications, manage IV drips, perform and interpret focused assessments, monitor telemetry, respond promptly to changes in patient condition, and participate in rapid response and escalation of care when indicated. You will educate patients and families on treatment plans, disease processes, and discharge instructions, promoting a safe transition of care and supporting long‑term wellness. This position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and coordinate care in a fast‑paced environment with fluctuating patient acuity and census.
