The team is split between Merrimack and Westlake TX, supporting managed portfolios- more specifically supporting analytics for new funds and enhancing analytics capabilities for the investors. They work with large volumes of data and a lot of different databases. Team is around 10 people that they’d work on (~50 total in the Tribe).

We need someone who is comfortable working with large data sets and writing stored procedures. They will work with multiple databases (Sybase, Oracle and MySQL), so someone with multiple databases is ideal.This is a Sr. position, long term open ended replacement for a contractor who left for a fulltime job.

The Role

We are looking for someone with proven experience in data engineering, analysis, and implementation and with exposure to Analytics related to Investment Fund Accounting or Investment Portfolio analytics. This Data Engineer role will work along with other Attribution squad members to review business requirements related to integrating Fund Accounting data, research current implementation, enhance and implement changes as necessary to data processing and calculations.

• Aligns with data migration and implementation standards
• Reverse engineer & document existing programs processing inbound data, staging and calculations implemented to support Attribution calculations
• Research current implementation to identify data attributes supporting specific calculations processing accounting data
• Implement enhancements to current calculations to handle changes to inbound data structures and calculations
• Perform detailed data analysis to support changes to existing functions and/or processes
• Work with source systems to detail new data sets
• Work with tech leads and business leaders to acquire a validated understanding of the domain, current state of technology and the strategic direction guiding future efforts
• Participate in the definition of both functional and non-functional requirements of a system and define the BI delivery strategy, standards, and support tools
• Resolve internal requirements for data controls and exception reporting
• Perform sophisticated data analysis and present findings to support recommendations
• Participates in activities with partners, including test planning and execution
• Participates in work stream planning process using Agile methodology

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 - 5 years’ experience as a Data Engineer/Developer
• 2+ years of experience in database analysis using Oracle PL/SQL or other DB tools
• Experience with Investment Fund Accounting or Investment Portfolio analytics related data
• Application/technology experience or similar related training, focusing in the area of data analysis and/or data processing.
• Collaborate with business partners on converting business requirements to conceptual data models.
• Experience in requirements gathering, data modeling, preparing data transformation rules and strong SQL skills.
• You are technically adept in learning new technologies and architectural methodologies and adapting our practices to support frequent changes in the technical environment.
• Love working with peers as part of an agile team and are open to role blending to learn new skills.
• A technical degree in a Computer Science or Data related subject

The CLIENT Performance Attribution technology team is responsible for the production of daily transaction-based attribution analytics at the holding's level for use by the application’s consumers who include: Senior Investment Staff, Portfolio Managers, Chief Investment Officers, Research groups, Distribution Channels, Board of Trustees & Shareholders.
