Consult Liaison Psychiatrist

Carilion Clinic is seeking a hospital-based Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist to provide expert psychiatric care and clinical teaching at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, VA. This role offers the opportunity to work from home part of the time via telemedicine and includes limited weekend call responsibilities. Practice Info Hospital-based Consultation-Liaison service spans all seven Carilion hospitals, including rural and critical access hospitals by leveraging telemedicine. Team is supported by dedicated mental health care coordinators and a 24/7 call center. Carilion New River Valley Medical Center has 110 medical-surgical beds and 32 dedicated to inpatient psychiatry. Hospital campus also includes an office based opioid treatment clinic (OBOT) and multidisciplinary outpatient psychiatry clinic. Separate dedicated Emergency Psychiatry service throughout the system. Opportunities to participate in integrated care, collaborative care, and quality improvement. Responsibilities Provide expert psychiatric care. Provide clinical teaching to residents and medical students. Provide consultation via telemedicine. Participate in integrated care, collaborative care, and quality improvement. Join ongoing collaborations with Addiction Medicine, Women's Health and Geriatric Medicine. Compensation Salary Range is $286,875 - $450,000. Eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary. Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary. Requirements Fellowship-trained in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, or have completed training in Internal Medicine-Psychiatry, or Family Practice-Psychiatry, or similar.
