We build and support two classes of vessel: moored ship-shaped power plants that generate high-density energy, and nuclear-powered commercial ships that will speed up global trade.Headquartered in Chiswick, London, with offices in Washington, D.C. and Japan, CORE POWER operates at the intersection of advanced nuclear, maritime, energy security and industrial policy.Role SummaryThe Business Development Analyst reports to the Principal Analyst, who heads the Commercial Analytics & Strategy team. This role is a member of the Analytics Team and acts as a key analytical business partner to the Business Development and Commercial team, liaising with other business areas such as Engineering, Government Affairs and Regulatory to provide research, analysis and strategic insights to support CORE POWER's commercial objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop data, information, reference materials and resources to evidence CORE POWER's progress in developing both floating nuclear power plants and nuclear-propelled commercial ships, and to shape market engagement.Identify market knowledge gaps within the CORE POWER teams and take the initiative to rectify and subsequently strengthen the commercial proposition.Author thought-leadership documents and market deep-dives, and review external communication material to ensure technical rigour.Contribute to a collaborative and productive working environment within the Analytics Team to ensure the successful delivery of all projects.Job RequirementsStrategic Analysis & Market IntelligenceConduct strategic research and analysis to support CORE POWER's commercial development, business development and engineering activities.Analyze market trends, competitor activity, regulatory developments and industry dynamics to identify opportunities and risks.Monitor the US energy and nuclear landscape, including NRC and wider regulatory developments, DOE programmes and federal and state incentives.Produce analytical reports, market deep-dives, briefing papers and other decision-support materials for internal and external stakeholders.Develop evidence-based insights to support commercial strategies, market engagement and long-term business.Business Partnering & Stakeholder EngagementBuild strong working relationships across the organization to gather information from technical and commercial teams.Consolidate complex information from multiple sources into concise, actionable insights tailored to different audiences.Support senior leaders by providing analytical input for customer engagement, strategic initiatives and business development activities.Act as an on-the-ground analytical resource for US business development activity, including conferences, customer meetings and partner workshops.Strategic Planning & Commercial AnalysisContribute to strategic planning by providing analytical support for business development and commercial / investment decisions.Undertake financial, commercial and competitive analysis to evaluate market opportunities and alternative technical solutions.Support the development of business cases, deployment scenarios and strategic recommendations.Data Analysis & ForecastingAnalyze historical data, market intelligence and industry trends to identify patterns and support evidence-based decision-making.Apply quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques to assess technical, commercial and market developments.Develop forecasts and scenario analyses that balance technical capabilities with commercial considerations, including cost, revenue and market adoption.Knowledge Management & Continuous ImprovementIdentify gaps in market knowledge and proactively develop resources to address them.Maintain a repository of analytical outputs, project documentation, market intelligence and lessons learned.Continuously improve analytical methodologies, reporting standards and knowledge-sharing practices across the team.Team CollaborationCollaborate closely with colleagues in the Commercial Analytics & Strategy team as well as with Commercial, Engineering and Operations teams.Support the successful delivery of cross-functional projects and wider business objectives.Work effectively across time zones with the London-based Analytics team, maintaining regular overlap hours and shared ways of working.Ways of WorkingApplies the team's model standards, version control and review processes, and contributes to the shared knowledge base.Supports the development of graduate analysts in market research and commercial analysis methods as the team grows.Operates effectively in a first-of-a-kind/novel environment: takes the initiative, forms defensible assumptions where no precedent exists, documents them transparently, and revises them as evidence develops.Experience & QualificationsDegree in economics, finance, engineering or another quantitative discipline.Experience in Business Development Analytics gained in energy or infrastructure projects strongly preferred.Strong financial modelling capability, including project cash flow modelling and scenario analysis;
