Identity and Access Management Engineering Technology Director

This leader will be responsible for advancing engineering capabilities that enable secure, scalable identity services across a complex technology environment.

The role will help shape the organization’s multi-cloud IAM strategy, including how identity capabilities are consistently deployed and consumed across Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).

A key focus will be evolving toward a cloud-agnostic, self-service model that simplifies application onboarding and enables greater portability and resiliency across cloud platforms.

This leader will also help advance IAM capabilities supporting emerging technologies, including cloud security and agentic solutions, while building an engineering organization positioned for the future.

In this role, you will:

• Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
• Provide strategic and technical leadership for IAM engineering capabilities across multiple cloud platforms
• Drive development of a multi-cloud IAM strategy focused on portability, resiliency, standardization, and reducing dependency on individual cloud providers
• Advance self-service IAM capabilities that simplify application onboarding, provisioning, and configuration across cloud environments
• Partner across security, cloud, platform, architecture, and application engineering teams to establish reusable IAM patterns and services
• Help define the IAM engineering strategy for emerging agentic technologies and evolving cloud security requirements
• Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
• Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
• Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
• Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
• Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers
• Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
• Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
• Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
• Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
• Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies, or industry forums
• Manage allocation of people and financial resources
• Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
• Demonstrate proficiency in using AI‑assisted development and analysis tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot and approved code‑centric agents)
• Leverage AI to accelerate system design, coding, testing, analysis, and troubleshooting
• Apply strong technical judgment when validating and integrating AI‑assisted outputs into solutions
• Understand and account for model limitations, security risks, and operational considerations
• Apply AI responsibly in development and production environments
• Ensure AI usage aligns with security, compliance, privacy, and ethical standards

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 4+ years of management or leadership experience
• 4+ years of experience leading Identity and Access Management engineering organizations or large-scale identity platforms

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience leading Identity and Access Management engineering organizations or large-scale identity platforms
• Experience developing technology strategies across multiple cloud environments, including Azure, GCP, AWS, and/or OCP
• Experience building or leading cloud-native platforms, shared services, or self-service engineering capabilities
• Knowledge of emerging security considerations associated with AI and agentic technologies
• Experience designing highly available, resilient, and scalable security or identity solutions
• Experience partnering across cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, application engineering, architecture, and risk organizations
• Experience modernizing legacy technology environments and defining future-state engineering roadmaps
• Proven ability to lead engineering leaders and influence senior technology stakeholders across a large, complex organization
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical strategy and operational performance to senior executives and key stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, collaboration, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CyberArk Defender/Sentry, or related security certifications are preferred

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities. $215,000.00 - $355,000.00
