Data Governance Manager

Responsibilities Establishes and maintains a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security Oversees data quality initiatives, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data Ensures compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards, and manages data-related risks by implementing appropriate controls and monitoring mechanisms Promotes a culture of data stewardship across the organization by educating and training staff on data governance practices and their roles in maintaining data quality Works closely with cross‑functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units, to align data governance initiatives with organizational goals and objectives Evaluates and implements data governance tools and technologies to support data management activities and improve data governance processes Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of data governance initiatives, using metrics and KPIs to track progress and identify areas for improvement Communicates data governance policies, standards, and best practices to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, ensuring clear understanding and adherence Continuously assesses and improves data governance practices, staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging best practices to enhance the organization’s data governance capabilities Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Education High school diploma or equivalent, required Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology, preferred Advanced degrees (Masters or MBA), preferred Experience Seven (7) or more years of experience in data management, data governance, master data management, or data quality, required Experience implementing, developing, or supporting data teams, analytics teams, or business intelligence platforms, required Experience in data modeling of large and complex data stores, preferred Professional services firm experience, preferred Licenses & Certifications Relevant such as DCAM, CIMP, CDMP, preferred Software Proficiency with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Purview, Collibra, Informatica, Alation), required Familiarity with Microsoft Azure & Power BI, preferred Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Ability to follow an issue through to its logical conclusion, and escalating where necessary Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain accurate documentation and technical authorship of complex documents Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills Ability to translate complex technical issues and topics into layman terms for diverse audiences Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of employees and management Ability to interact and build relationships and consensus among people Ability to facilitate meetings efficiently and effectively Excellent problem‑solving skills Ability to effectively organize and delegate complex tasks Ability to work in a deadline‑driven environment while handling multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously with a focus on details Ability to work well under pressure while dealing with unexpected problems in a professional manner Advanced knowledge and understanding of the firm’s standard applications and all aspects of the IT environment Ability to research and resolve problems, acquire and maintain knowledge of relevant software solutions, and support firm policies and procedures Willingness to travel, on a limited basis, in support of stated goals and/or for firm‑sponsored trainings and conferences Salary National Range: $140,000 - $165,000 Maryland Range: $140,000 - $165,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $140,000 - $165,000 Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
