Sr. Sales Associate, Clubs, Adult Books, Penguin Random House (Hybrid) Penguin Random House is the leading adult and children’s publishing house in North America, the United Kingdom and many other regions. Our Adult Mass Merch Sales team is looking for an experienced Sr. Sales Associate to join the Clubs team. The role combines sales support and a selling function, partnering with warehouse clubs’ accounts. Responsibilities Act as the point person for seasonal sales calls: gather materials, research titles, and create PowerPoint presentations with the team. Manage the co‑op pool: submit contracts and update the tracker. Analyze and report weekly and ad‑hoc market trends and insights. Present titles on a seasonal basis to club retailers and their supporting vendors. Optimize front‑list and back‑list opportunities with in‑store promotions and close management of the co‑op pool. Communicate account buys and update estimates. Attend regular meetings, including imprint launches, strategy and marketing sessions, and consistently provide account‑specific feedback. Collaborate with publishers on opportunities unique to the account. Qualifications Minimum 1–2 years of sales experience; direct selling a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities. Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and follow up. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Proactive and effective under pressure. Excel at working within a collaborative team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically by car, train, or plane. Previous sales experience in publishing is a strong plus. Salary & Benefits The salary for this position is $61,000 per year. All positions are currently eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
