Production Supervisor

Performs all duties associated with the Manufacturing Department. Organizes resources on a daily basis to meet production needs. Trains & verifies all employees against standardized work. Leads continuous improvement activities and daily team meetings (Shop Floor Management). Mentors employees on technical and leadership skills. Exercise initiative in troubleshooting and problem solving related to operational problems. Ensure compliance to customer requirements. Resolves personnel issues.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure team members are following safety protocol including using proper PPE.
2. Train employees to standardized work and verify compliance
3. Write and update standardized work instructions
4. Lead problem solving initiatives with team members, align manufacturing resources
5. Lead Shop Floor Management meeting
6. Track key area KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and update SFM board
7. Schedule/assign team members to daily work assignments
8. Analyze performance of manufacturing processes
9. Mentor team leaders & operators on technical and leadership skills
10. Relieve and otherwise backfill for team leaders due to breaks, absences, etc.
11. Assist in paperwork completion and verification
12. Resolve personnel issues, discipline employees as needed
13. Troubleshoot processes/equipment as needed/escalated from Team Leaders/Operators
14. Complete other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Manager
15. Supervise manufacturing employees (approximently 40)

RELATIONSHIPS:

The Production Supervisor reports to and is accountable to the Operations Manager

The Production Supervisor shall work cooperatively with other departments (i.e. Quality, Customer Service, Shipping and Accounting) to assure the products sold achieve the customer specific requirements.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

Education:

Minimum High School Education or equivalent

Training:

• Basic rubber manufacturing process training
• DPS Basics training

Skills:

• Strong communicator

Experience:

• Knowledge and experience in rubber manufacturing.

• 1 Year experience in manufacturing environment.

• Proven experience in a previous leadership role
