About the Opportunity Boutique firm with 3 partners and 3 associates, located in a standalone office space just outside downtown Salt Lake City Primarily state court litigation, with some federal court matters Insurance defense caseload; medical malpractice experience is a plus but not required - the firm is happy to train motivated litigators on this niche Billable target: 1,850 hours Real, near-term path to partnership Relaxed, adult-oriented culture - team is in office 5x/week, but the firm trusts its attorneys to manage their workload, PTO, and appointments like professionals (no clock-watching) Dog-friendly office (yes, really) What They're Looking For Litigation background with hands-on deposition and courtroom experience Trial experience is a plus, not a requirement Ideally 3-4 years of experience - ready to take on more responsibility and work with greater independence - but strong 1-3 year candidates will also be considered Active Utah Bar license, or ability to obtain one A team player with a strong work ethic and a good attitude - this firm values collaboration and willingness to help colleagues as much as raw billable numbers Compensation & Growth After the 3rd/4th year, compensation shifts to a more performance-based structure tied to billables, independent case management, and overall contribution Annual discretionary bonus Compensation was recently adjusted to stay competitive as larger firms expand into the Salt Lake City market Process This firm moves fast - no layers of red tape or drawn-out interview processes. Pay range and compensation package : The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 – $180,000 annually.
