A cook performs kitchen activities with the goal of creating an excellent guest experience through the preparation of excellent food. A cook is accountable for maintaining the highest standard of safe food preparation and high quality service while conscious to do so in a quick manner with excellent presentation. A cook maintains a positive attitude and a willingness to learn in a teamwork environment. A cook constantly strives for efficient kitchen operations, yet clearly understands the jobs priorities and always puts the customers direct needs first. A cook communicates well with all employees and is responsive to management supervision and objective feedback./ppJob Activities:/pulliSets up and closes kitchen for total operational functionality of shift and following shift./liliPrepares all items on kitchen prep list following Zaxbys training procedures to ensure all food items are fully stocked for a shift./liliUnderstands every kitchen station and follows all Zaxbys cooking procedures to ensure safe service of high quality food./liliWork on the center-line of food production whereas to guarantee high quality food and customer service that is fast and presented in the correct manner./liliFollows the FIFO inventory procedures, properly labels all prepared food items, and knows where all kitchen items are located./liliEnsures that necessary kitchen utensils and equipment are properly positioned throughout shift for use by all team members./liliAble to correctly complete all daily BOH maintenance procedures and helps with completing weekly and monthly maintenance./liliMaintains a clean work station throughout the shift and aids other team members in this task when needed./liliCompletes the BOH checklist for assigned workstation and openly assists other BOH team members in this process./liliWashes dishes so the next shift will be fully prepared for starting kitchen operations./liliDisposes of all accumulated trash and boxes to the appropriate bins during a shift and cleans dumpster area when necessary./li/ulpEquipment Utilized:/pulliConscious of safe usage/storage of all hazardous chemicals used to clean BOH area./liliKnows the correct and safe procedures for using and maintaining kitchen equipment such as fryers, grills, hot holding bins, and other kitchen equipment./liliSafely uses all food preparation equipment including knives, peelers, lettuce choppers, tomato and lemon slicers, and any other potentially hazardous objects./li/ulpGeneral Qualification Requirements:/pulliExemplifies honesty and integrity thru actions and demonstrates a clear alignment with Zaxbys mission statement, core values, and company culture to encourage personal growth, the growth of others, and the building of meaningful relationships./liliCan work in a fast-paced environment and willingly help team-based environment./liliAble to interact with 4-8 team members and contribute to a positive team-based environment./liliWilling to listen, learn, and continuously practice correct BOH procedures./liliPunctual, dependable, and with reliable transportation for completing each assigned shift./liliUnderstands Zaxbys safety policies and procedures including necessary MSDS information./liliMust be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to stand for extended periods if time./li/ul/div
