Job PostingMetropolitan State Hospital- Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles CountyCandidates must be willing to work in any Unit/Program and any shift to meet the needs of the facility.DSH-Metropolitan is seeking a full-time Senior Psychologist Specialist (Neuro Cognitive Remediation Pilot Program) who is knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated to providing treatment to chronically and severely mentally ill patients presenting with cognitive difficulties. Core responsibilities will include planning and implementing treatment interventions focused on cognitive remediation and social cognition training, with the goal of reducing dangerous and violent behaviors and improving daily functioning. Additional responsibilities will include providing assessment on a variety of outcome measures, collecting and analyzing data, training and directing a support team of psychiatric technicians, and consultation with patients' treatment teams. Experience providing psychological treatment to cognitively impaired individuals, cognitive rehabilitation, cognitive assessment, data collection, and consultation is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to an otherwise qualified candidate having experience providing treatment to severely mentally ill patients in a locked inpatient setting.
