Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: EKG proficiency is required. Previous charge nurse experience is preferred. Epic charting experience is required. Description: This position requires expertise in general medical-surgical nursing and telemetry. The predominant patient population will involve medical-surgical cases. Travelers must adhere to a zero-tolerance policy regarding tardiness and unexcused absences. Applicants must familiarize themselves with the job description before submission. Candidates must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding. They will provide care for observation patients, individuals with respiratory conditions, and those with general medical-surgical diagnoses. Care will also include palliative, end-of-life, and hospice patients, as well as psychiatric observation and diabetes management. Flexibility with scheduling and potential floating to different facilities is required. Daily patient ratios on nights will be 6:1. Standard vital signs will need to be assessed routinely. Patients in this unit will be physiologically stable and require minimal cardiac monitoring. Oxygen administration is capped at specific levels, ensuring comfort care exceptions are noted. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams for additional patient support will be necessary. The average daily census will involve managing up to 12 patients.
