Position Summary

As a Residential HVAC Service Technician, you'll interact directly with homeowners to diagnose, repair, maintain, and service residential HVAC systems. You'll represent Choate's professionally while delivering exceptional customer service and identifying opportunities to improve customer comfort and system performance.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of residential HVAC experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• EPA Certification
• Valid and insurable driver's license
• Clean background check
• Drug-free workplace
• Must provide required hand tools

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of residential HVAC service experience
• NATE Certification
• Experience with ductless mini-split systems
• Familiarity with Carrier Infinity and communication controls
• ServiceTitan experience

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential HVAC equipment
• Communicate professionally with customers
• Provide repair and replacement options
• Create estimates and proposals
• Recommend maintenance agreements and system upgrades when appropriate
• Document work using ServiceTitan
• Participate in team meetings and training
• Meet performance and customer service goals
• Work collaboratively with dispatchers, managers, and teammates

Schedule

Choose the schedule option that best fits your lifestyle:

• Option 1: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with rotating on-call schedule
• Option 2: Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with rotating on-call schedule
• Option 3: Four-day work week, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including one Saturday shift, no on-call required

Overtime opportunities available

Seasonal demand may require additional hours

Physical Requirements/ADA

Applicant must be able to ascend and descend ladders. Applicant must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, unassisted. Work will be performed both in a comfortable indoor facility and outside in the elements. Applicant will experience some interruptions and occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than his/her immediate supervisor. The position frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands, standing, walking, reaching, crawling, climbing stairs and ladders, talking, hearing, staring at computer screens and typing.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
