STGi is currently seeking a Psychiatrist to provide services at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic.

The general duty of the Psychiatrist is to provide covered professional psychiatric services to enrolled patients of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Veteran Affairs Mental Health Program, and to act as a collaborating physician for the onsite Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practitioner(s).

Essential functions include providing treatment for patients with general psychiatric disorders in a variety of treatment settings, serving as subject matter expert in support of the behavioral health interdisciplinary team, collaborating with community mental health inpatient programs, developing and implementing treatment plans for a range of mental illnesses, monitoring patients' progress, facilitating group and one-on-one counseling sessions, counseling and educating patients, families, communities, staff and others regarding mental health care, documenting patient care, maintaining clinical and administrative records, ensuring all patient information on encounter forms is complete and accurate, maintaining confidentiality of all information, acting as a liaison for the VAMC, and performing other work-related duties as assigned.

Required skills include retaining an active, full and unrestricted medical license in the state of Kentucky, board-certification or eligibility by the ABPN or AOBPN in Psychiatry, current and unrestricted DEA, current CPR/BLS from the American Heart Association or the Military Training Network, knowledge of professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques, knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and computer maneuverability including experience with electronic medical records systems.

Required experience includes a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), and successful completion of an accredited residency program in general psychiatry.

Working conditions/physical requirements include moderate physical activity, handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day, work performed in a typical interior/office work environment, and required to respond to any medical emergency within the clinic.
