As a Manager of Youth Services, you'll lead a team dedicated to transforming lives across Central Florida.We seek an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide training to our youth clients. This position will participate and support our youth clients ages 0-21.Service DeliveryConduct Orientation and Mobility evaluations to establish, in consultation with parent(s) or guardian(s), Individual Service Plans inclusive of annual goals and short-term benchmarks, as neededProvide home, community, and center-based instruction as appropriate to the needs of the client, as needed, which could include night and weekend events to ensure staff-to-client ratios are metProvide Orientation and Mobility Services for our youth program clients ages 0-21Coordinate the implementation of service plans and curricula with other members of the teamsComplete required reports to document each client's progress, including evaluations, goals, daily and monthly progress reports, and data entry.Ensure the confidentiality of client records in accordance with accreditation requirements and state and federal laws/regulationsPerform other duties as required.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's Degree required, with an emphasis on visual disabilities, or related field; Master's Degree in a vision-related field preferredExperience:Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with visual impairments required.License/Certification:ACVREP COMS (Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist)Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Intermediate knowledge of database applicationsPossess excellent internal and external customer service skillsAbility to triage for service deliveryPossess knowledge of community and blindness resourcesAbility to interpret eye reports to determine eligibility for servicesPossess a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Internet, and OutlookPossess an ability to utilize the database for client demographics, case documentation, and report generationPossess effective organizational and time management skills with attention to detailAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, management, business professionals, civic organizations, private corporations, and the general publicAbility to project a positive, compassionate image to the publicPhysical Demands:Ability to move about independentlyModerate ability to move and lift items, usually ranging up to 40 lbsStrength to physically assist visually impaired and multiply-impaired childrenClimbing stairs, walkingStooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching to work with children on the floorAbility to actively participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor field tripsProlonged standing upon occasionProlonged sitting at the work workstationRequirements:Maintain required certification and/or licenseMust pass Level II background checkPossess or be able to utilize reliable transportationEligible to work in the United States
