EssentialFunctions: Provide and maintain a clean and sanitary environment by ensuring all floor surfaces are maintained. Perform proper techniques of floor care and preparation of areas to be cleaned, buffed, stripped or waxed as well as carpet cleaning Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions Applies disinfectant to surfaces to prevent spread of disease in accordance with standards Dusts window sills, blinds, furniture, light fixtures, vents and equipment Collects and empties trash, disposes of bio-hazard materials, confidential and recycle materials in accordance with established standards Collects soiled linen bags from patient care areas Sanitizes and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors and other hard surfaces; refills soap, towels and other dispensers Daily, maintains log of activities Vacuums carpets, shampoos and spot cleans as needed Washes windows, both interior and exterior surfaces Dusts furniture, equipment, vents, window sills and light fixtures Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Supervisor Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements One year previous institutional cleaning experience; hospital setting preferred. High School Diploma or GED equivalent, preferred.
