CNC Laser Operator

Location: Sturbridge, MA
Pay: $22.00–$24.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Industry: Metal Manufacturing

Savvy Staffing is seeking a CNC Laser Operator for a metal manufacturing company in Sturbridge, MA. This is a great opportunity for someone with CNC, machine operation, or metal manufacturing experience who is comfortable working with measurements, blueprints, and production equipment.

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, and operate CNC laser equipment according to production requirements
Read and interpret routers, travelers, customer drawings, and specifications
Set machine parameters and power settings
Load metal sheets into the machine and operate the laser to cut parts
Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures
Make minor program adjustments and perform basic laser programming
Troubleshoot equipment and make adjustments as needed
Perform routine machine maintenance and coordinate maintenance when needed
Ensure finished products meet quality and dimensional requirements
Move materials and parts using hoists, cranes, forklifts, or hand trucks
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment
Communicate production, quality, and safety concerns to supervisors

Qualifications

Previous CNC, laser, machining, or metal manufacturing experience is preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layouts
Comfortable using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures
Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software and machine controls
Basic math skills, including decimals, fractions, and percentages
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Must be able to obtain forklift and crane licenses
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and improve processes
Must be willing to work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

Regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, balance, and handle materials throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment
