Heavy Forklift Operator

Logistics Plus is seeking an experienced Heavy Forklift Operator to safely handle oversized, heavy, and specialized industrial cargo. This is not a traditional warehouse forklift position. The ideal candidate has experience operating large-capacity forklifts, understands load balance and center of gravity, and takes a safety-first approach to every lift.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate high-capacity forklifts, including large Hyster and other heavy-lift equipment.
• Load, unload, move, and position oversized and specialized cargo.
• Assess loads for weight distribution, center of gravity, lift points, and safe handling methods.
• Read and interpret load diagrams, handling instructions, and shipping documentation.
• Safely secure and transport cargo using approved material-handling techniques.
• Perform equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy forklifts or similar material-handling equipment.
• Experience handling oversized, irregular, or high-value freight.
• Strong understanding of load balance, weight distribution, lift points, and safe lifting practices.
• Ability to read diagrams, load plans, and handling instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and sound judgment.

Preferred Experience

• Hyster heavy forklift experience.
• Industrial, manufacturing, construction, project cargo, or heavy logistics environments.
• Experience handling transformers, electrical equipment, generators, machinery, or other large industrial components.
