Job Title: Production Worker
Job Description
As a Production Worker, you will support the manufacturing of wire mesh fencing in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will manually load and unload materials, assist with the assembly of wire mesh nets, and closely observe machine operations to ensure safe and efficient production. This role requires a strong focus on safety, reliability, and collaboration, as well as the ability to perform physically active tasks throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Manually load and unload parts and materials onto and from production equipment.
• Consistently move materials throughout the work area, including kneeling, bending, lifting, and carrying items as needed.
• Stack materials in an organized and safe manner to support ongoing production activities.
• Assemble wire mesh nets according to production specifications and quality standards.
• Thread wire mesh together accurately to create finished fencing products.
• Observe equipment and machine operations to identify any malfunctions or irregularities.
• Notify machine operators or appropriate personnel immediately when equipment malfunctions or safety concerns are detected.
• Perform general production and labor tasks to support overall manufacturing operations.
• Assist with packaging and packing of finished products for shipment or storage.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly for assembly, adjustment, or minor repairs as required.
• Carry out visual inspection of materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Handle materials and inventory, including loading, picking, and organizing items within the production area.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area to support safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to maintain smooth production flow.

Essential Skills

• Experience in production, general labor, or general production environments.
• Ability to perform machine operation or support machine operating activities in a manufacturing setting.
• Hands-on assembly experience, particularly with mechanical or construction-related components.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during the shift.
• Back ground in construction or similar physically demanding work environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working around production lines and industrial equipment.
• Ability to perform visual inspection to identify defects or irregularities in materials and finished products.
• Competence in material handling tasks, including loading, unloading, stacking, and moving items safely.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for basic measurements.
• Comfort using hand tools and power tools in a safe and controlled manner.
• Willingness and ability to work in a physically active role involving kneeling, bending, and repetitive movements.
• Reliability, safety awareness, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in packaging, packing, and inspection in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with forklift operation or other material handling equipment.
• Exposure to construction or mechanical work, providing a strong foundation for production tasks.
• Ability to interpret simple blueprints or production instructions is a plus.
• Experience working on a production line or in inventory and picking roles.
• Comfort with cleaning and maintaining a tidy work area in an industrial environment.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of ALGODONES, NM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.25/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
