About King David Tacos

Founded in Brooklyn in 2016, King David Tacos is a woman-owned CPG / Hospitality hybrid food company, focused on making a better on-the-go breakfast. Our breakfast tacos are critically-acclaimed, and we have established the breakfast taco market in New York. We operate out of our 11,000 square foot headquarters and production facility in Prospect Heights. We are a vertically-integrated business, and we sell our breakfast tacos across Retail (brick & mortar, mobile, catering) and Wholesale (foodservice) channels.

KDT drivers are reliable, punctual employees that can handle daily transport of our wholesale, catering and retail deliveries across New York and New Jersey. They assist with transportation of our mobile food cart between our HQ on Bergen Street and Prospect Park (Grand Army Plaza). They are safe drivers, and take pride in taking care of company vehicles.

• Hourly: Starting Rate $20
• Eligible for Tips from Catering Services
• Company vehicle provided
• Additional flat rate available for cart transportation, if qualified

Schedule Expectations

• 4-5 Days a Week, 4 to 8 hours per shift; 25-35 hours per week
• Weekend and early morning availability required: 
• Daily start time: 5:30AM 
• Cart start time: 5:00AM
• This schedule may fluctuate based on business needs

Driver Responsibilities

• Inspect and prepare the delivery vehicle and/or cart before each shift
• Remain in constant and safe communication with the Manager on Duty for the duration of your shift (a KDT phone is provided for use while NOT driving).
• Maintain delivery logs and basic records (mileage, fuel, etc.)
• Report vehicle problems and maintenance needs promptly to management
• Assist with vehicle or cart maintenance when scheduled: oil changes, tire pressure, water filled, charging, etc.
• Comply with traffic laws and regulations at all times. 
• Utilize Nauto to evaluate your driving safety and report incidents
• Always remain calm and safe while operating vehicles

• Read daily dispatch emails before your shift, preparing you for the day’s deliveries and instructions.
• Understanding all routes: Local Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Queens, Manhattan and occasional long-distance deliveries 
• As a representative of KDT, provide friendly, professional service to customers upon delivery
• Load and secure wholesale and catering orders accurately and safely
• Deliver orders on time following assigned routes and delivery schedules
• Handle food properly, maintaining correct temperatures and presentation
• Obtain signatures or confirmations as needed for each delivery
• Report issues like delays, damaged goods, or incomplete orders
• Assist operations as needed

• Safely attach and detach trailer and cart to/from vehicle 
• Drive company vehicle with trailer attached and safely drive in reverse when needed 
• Load and unload light equipment (e.g., coffee urns) 
• Refill generator gas and water tanks (supplies provided at HQ) 
• Ensure on-time delivery and pickup at designated locations 
• Assist with event transportation of KDT carts and rentals

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Driver (catering or foodservice delivery experience a plus)
• Ability to communicate effectively in English or with translation support as needed
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks at once
• Excellent reliability and timeliness
• Safe, responsible, and defensive driving habits and style
• Knowledge of Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens driving conditions and directions

Qualifications

• Valid driver license and clean driving record (verified by MVR annually)
• Confident operating a vehicle with a trailer (including backing up in reverse)
• Able to lift up to 50–70 lbs and maneuver wheeled carts
• Strong attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude
• Comfortable working in a team-based setting and contributing to a collaborative atmosphere
• Consistently professional in behavior, appearance, and interactions
