Medical Administrative AssistantThis position is located in Knoxville, TN.Job Summary/Essential Job Functions: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the Medical Administrative Assistant is responsible for patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, collecting patient payments, telephone triage, and general office duties.Responsibilities:Performs patient registration/check-ins, patient collections, insurance and demographic verifications.Prepares and mails new patient applications.Completes PCP change forms when necessary, during check-in process.Answers phone calls and routes calls and messages through EMR.Schedules interpreter for hearing-impaired patients.Communicates with patients regarding appointments and wait times.Maintains cleanliness of front office space and waiting rooms.Answer appointment line and assist patients with scheduling appointments.Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education: High School diploma or GED (transcript required).Experience: One (1) year of experience in an administrative role in an office-based setting.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment.Good computer skills.Knowledge and ability to work in Microsoft Office.Work Schedule: This position may be occasionally required to work evenings.
