An immediate opening is available for a passionate Middle School Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. You'll have the chance to work in both resource and co-taught classroom settings, providing essential services and support to middle school students with IEPs.
Utilize your knowledge, creativity, and collaborative spirit to empower students, partnering closely with general education staff to foster academic and social success.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement
- Experience working in middle school or similar settings is a plus
- Strong understanding of IEPs, accommodations, and modifications
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction in resource and co-taught classrooms
- Implement accommodations, modifications, and instructional supports for students with IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and school staff to create inclusive learning experiences
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Maintain and update special education records in a timely, accurate manner
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and help devise tailored academic and behavioral plans
- Support students’ academic and behavioral growth in a positive, inclusive environment
Position Details:
- School Year: 2026–2027
- Start Date: ASAP; End Date: May 27, 2027
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Hours: 7:20 AM–2:50 PM (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri), 7:20 AM–3:05 PM (Wed)
