Responsibilities Manages the daily operations of assigned departments or functions to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. Assists in developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives that directly support the organization's strategic plan and vision. Manages staff relations, including performance management, employee engagement, and conflict resolution; oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagement activities. Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, contracts, and vendor relationships. Identifies and justifies needs for systems, equipment, and supply purchases; monitors utilization and ensures equipment functionality and appropriate inventory levels. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and development. Ensures the department remains focused on its critical role within the continuum of care. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA), as well as proficiency in applying organizational policies, procedures, and Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices. Manages the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work to ensure quality standards are met; responsible for hiring, training, developing, evaluating performance, and administering corrective action for staff. Education Bachelor's Degree in related field required. Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education Skills & Experience Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs. Moderate Computer Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives. Complex Communication -- Frequently communicates complex information and interacts with management. Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others. Varied Business Problems --Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedent, and practices. Department Specific -- Decisions impact the management and operations within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department. Functional Independent Judgement -- Provides and sets goals and priorities for functional area. May make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs. Makes decisions for and/or resolves problems for others. Project Planning/Organization -- Handle multiple projects simultaneously including task delegation, project over-sight, and resource allocation.
