The Progressive Pulmonary Care Unit located on G91 is a high-acuity, 34-bed unit providing specialized care to patients with complex pulmonary needs. Our specially trained caregivers care for patients with conditions and therapies including asthma, ventilator and tracheostomy management, high-flow oxygen and BiPAP, post-lung transplant care, and pulmonary hypertension.

We're seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) who is passionate about mentorship, teamwork, and clinical excellence. A caregiver in this role works nights, 7:00pm - 7:30am. Every other Saturday or Sunday and every other holiday.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide clinical supervision and coordinate unit clinical operations under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
• Supervise and participate in delivering patient care, ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts, and coordinate patient admitting, discharges and transfers.
• Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of caregivers, counsel caregivers on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions, monitor attendance issues and review major operational patient care issues with the Nurse Manager.
• Interview, select and orient new caregivers.
• Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.
• Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes, studies and research initiatives.
• Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Or the American Red Cross
• *If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment
• Two years of recent clinical nursing experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires extensive sitting and dexterity to perform work on a PC.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
