JOB TITLE:                          SUPERVISOR

PROGRAM:                         Healthy Families Niagara

STATUS:                              Full-Time, (35 hours per week)

FLSA DESIGNATION:        Exempt

REPORTS TO:                     Program Manager

DEGREE:                             Master’s Degree in Family Counseling, Social Work, Psychology/Sociology

or Nursing; OR Bachelor’s Degree in a Health or Human Service Field and

five (5) years experience in a home visiting program with clinical supervisory experience in working with multi-problem families preferred

EXPERIENCE:                     See above; OR Family Support Worker or Family Assessment Worker with five (5) years of direct service in a Healthy Families Program, a documented history of progressive professional development, plus an Associate’s

Degree in a related field may be promoted to a supervisory position

SALARY:                              $25.50 per hour

AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid New York State Driver’s License
• Solid understanding and experience in managing and motivating staff
• Complies with all policies and procedures of FACS (including NASW Code of Ethics, Collective Bargaining Agreement, and Corporate Compliance Policies) and all governmental and legal requirements.
• Attends and participates in appropriate agency staff trainings and meetings.
• Advocates for cultural diversity/sensitivity as appropriate.
• Reports all suspected incidences of child abuse/neglect to NYS Hotline with supervisory approval.
• Participates actively in ongoing professional development.
• Provides ongoing, intensive, professional clinical supervision to a direct care staff of 4-5 Family Assessment Workers and/or Family support Workers on a weekly basis of at least two (2) hours with each worker.
• Assists staff in addressing potential staff burnout, identifying and maintaining appropriate boundaries between staff and the families, provides daily support, monitoring and crisis management.
• Assists the staff to support families in developing realistic and effective support plans as well as identifying, understanding and addressing barriers to progress.
• Monitors quality of service delivery by conducting periodic chart reviews, home visit observations and review of program data reports.
• Participates in the selection and training of staff, including orientation.
• Assists in coordinating, monitoring and possible participating in all local, regional and state core and wrap around training for staff.
• Identifies potential program linkages with the community and other partner agencies.
• Meets on a regular, planned basis with Program Director at a regularly scheduled time and participates actively in this process.
• Presents Healthy Families Niagara and PCS Agency services to the community at large.
• Performs other duties assigned by Administration.

SKILLS:

·        Knowledge of maternal-infant health and concepts of child abuse and neglect

·        Experience working with culturally diverse communities and families

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Conducts team meetings.
