Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.**WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:*** Review customer-provided information to identify factors affecting product design.* Perform necessary calculations to ensure dimensions, tolerances and other specifications are accurate as represented; notify customer of any discrepancies.* Apply knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, etc., in developing designs.* Consult other departments as needed to ensure integrity and manufacturability.* Define, verify, and update bill of material requirements as drawings are developed.* Ensure accuracy of work by checking dimensions, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and of various parts to the entire project.* Notify appropriate personnel when other activities are ready to be performed during the design process (material updates, design checks, obtaining load calculation certifications, etc.)* Submit preliminary and approval drawing packages to customers for review; make changes as needed.* Submit final (certified) drawing package to customer.* Submit fabrication drawings to manufacturing and monitor throughout the manufacturing process.**YOU HAVE:*** Two-year technical degree in drafting and design* Proficiency with AutoCAD drafting software and with 3-D modeling software (AutoCAD Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar)* Thorough knowledge of electro-mechanical product design drafting practices* Ability to accurately and independently generate complex designs and assemblies* Solid performance on pre-employment skills testing* Ideally 5+ years of electro-mechanical product design experience**WE HAVE:*** A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day + nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
