Description The Quality Inspector for metal stamping plays a crucial role in ensuring that all products manufactured meet specified quality standards and customer expectations throughout the production cycle. This position involves rigorous inspection processes, collaboration with various teams, and a commitment to continuous improvement to uphold the integrity of our products. Key Responsibilities Thoroughly examine incoming raw materials to verify compliance with established specifications and quality standards. Document and communicate material discrepancies to suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely resolutions. Conduct systematic and detailed inspections at various stages of the metal stamping process, including during setup and ongoing production runs. Utilize precision measurement tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM), to assess dimensions, tolerances, and overall component integrity. Execute comprehensive evaluations on finished products, ensuring conformity to engineering specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, highlighting any non-conformities and recommending corrective actions as necessary. Perform functional, durability, and performance testing on products, if applicable, to guarantee they meet operational requirements. Analyze and interpret test results to identify trends, potential defects, and opportunities for process enhancements. Work closely with production supervisors, engineers, and other team members to address quality issues effectively and implement corrective actions. Actively participate in cross-departmental meetings focused on quality improvements, safety initiatives, and production efficiency. Maintain rigorous documentation of all inspections, tests, and quality control processes to ensure traceability and compliance with industry standards. Prepare and present quality performance reports to management, including analysis of quality metrics and any corrective actions taken. Ensure adherence to all quality management protocols, industry standards (such as ISO or TS standards), and company policies. Assist in conducting internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and insights related to quality control practices. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree in quality control, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience (2+ years) in quality inspection, specifically within a metal stamping or manufacturing environment. Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to identify and document defects clearly. Proficient in using various inspection tools and measurement devices, with familiarity in computer software for data analysis and reporting. Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods while conducting inspections and use precision measurement equipment. Capability to lift and maneuver materials and products weighing up to 25 pounds as needed. Work Environment The role is primarily performed in a manufacturing floor setting, with exposure to machinery, metalworking processes, and varying temperatures.
