Position summary: The Salesforce Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring that the Salesforce database directly supports the programmatic and organizational strategies of Share Our Strength. The role serves as the organization’s primary Salesforce subject matter expert and technical owner of an evolving platform spanning Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud, supporting 110+ internal, 1,900+ external portal users, and multiple integrations. The Administrator translates business needs into technical solutions, drives independence from external consultants, and builds and maintains the operational and documentation infrastructure that supports the CRM function as it scales to meet the organization’s growing programmatic needs. Location and compensation: Preferred location is Washington, DC; could be fully remote for the right candidate. Salary range $91k–$98k. Exact compensation within the stated range may vary based on skills, experience, internal equity, and geographical location. Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the organization’s primary Salesforce technical lead across Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud, including third‑party Salesforce tools, driving the ongoing design and expansion of an actively evolving platform, and ensuring the platform architecture is scalable, sustainable, and aligned with organizational goals. Maintain automated backups of production data and metadata, perform regular data integrity audits, and ensure Program CRM supports Share Our Strength’s programmatic and organizational goals. Manage advanced configuration, including designing and building custom objects and relationships, dynamic forms with 400+ fields, automating business processes using Salesforce Flows, creating formula and roll‑up summary fields, and editing page layouts and permissions. Manage and troubleshoot data migrations and integrations from external sources to Salesforce, collaborating with IT, Data Analytics, and external developers on bidirectional AWS‑Salesforce integration, aligning data mapping requirements, and conducting ongoing monitoring of data integrity. Design and build advanced reports, custom report types, and dashboards that aggregate data across multiple objects to support evolving reporting needs. Create and maintain system documentation infrastructure, templates, and standards, and lead development of data dictionaries and field‑mapping resources for core Salesforce objects. Manage data hygiene efforts, develop and maintain the organization’s duplicate‑management protocol, implement validation and duplicate rules, and provide oversight to the CRM Manager and superusers on consistent application. Proactively recommend system improvements through independent assessment of technical risk, participation in workgroup and requirements‑gathering processes, and adaptation to evolving business needs. Partner with colleagues to support Share Our Strength’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, embedding those values throughout the organization. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required, or equivalent professional and work experience; minimum 5 years relevant experience and at least 3 years experience with Salesforce. Salesforce Administrator Certification required. Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification preferred. Salesforce experience in a non‑profit setting or working with a non‑profit highly preferred. Highly organized with a successful track record initiating and managing multiple complex projects and priorities in a deadline‑driven environment. Proactive and self‑starter with excellent problem‑solving and implementation skills; ability to experiment and iterate while building sustainable products. Proven strong technical communication skills and ability to synthesize technical information into clear messages for various audiences. Creative, curious, intuitive, and resourceful with exceptional attention to detail. Outstanding interpersonal and relationship‑management skills while working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, identifying and working through challenges with strong judgment and emotional intelligence. Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi‑step, detail‑oriented projects in a fluid environment.
