Backend Engineer

Premier Global Links LLC is seeking a Backend Engineer to build and operate high-volume data processing systems that transform sensitive enterprise data into reliable, AI-ready datasets.

This role is ideal for an engineer who has hands‑on experience owning production backend systems and enjoys solving complex problems involving asynchronous processing, distributed systems, data pipelines, reliability, and large‑scale workloads .

You will work closely with engineering, machine learning, security, and product teams in a fast‑paced environment where engineers have significant ownership and impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and scale multi‑stage, high‑volume data processing pipelines.
• Develop backend systems that process and transform sensitive enterprise data.
• Own backend services throughout design, development, deployment, debugging, and maintenance.
• Design reliable asynchronous workflows using queues, workers, concurrency, and batch processing.
• Implement safe handling of retries, checkpoints, partial failures, backfills, rollbacks, and recovery.
• Build systems that detect data quality issues, duplicated outputs, stale data, and silent failures.
• Develop internal tools and dashboards to monitor pipeline performance and data quality.
• Maintain reliable data provenance and support operational decision‑making.
• Work with object storage and cloud‑based processing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with ML, full‑stack, platform, and security engineers to support new data types and product capabilities.
• Improve system scalability, reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building and operating production backend systems .
• Experience with high‑volume or multi‑stage data processing systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed and asynchronous backend architecture.
• Experience with queues, workers, concurrency, retries, idempotency, and failure recovery.
• Strong proficiency in a general‑purpose programming language such as Python, Go, Rust, or Java .
• Experience designing and building backend APIs and services.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to take ownership of systems from design through production operation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another relevant STEM field.
• Ability to work on‑site five days per week in Brooklyn, NY .

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at an early‑stage or high‑growth technology startup.
• Experience with AWS and cloud‑based backend systems.
• Experience with batch processing or workflow orchestration.
• Experience building data processing or AI‑data infrastructure.
• Experience working with sensitive or privacy‑sensitive datasets.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, data quality, and system performance tooling.
• Experience collaborating with machine learning or AI engineering teams.
• Strong full‑stack awareness with the ability to understand how backend systems interact with user‑facing applications.

Compensation & Benefits

• $220,000–$300,000 annual salary , based on experience and qualifications

On‑site – Brooklyn, New York
