Web Designer & Optimization Specialist Sr.

Coastal Credit Union is seeking a Sr. Web Designer & Optimization Specialist to lead design, development, optimization, and performance for the public website. This hybrid role in Raleigh, NC focuses on supporting digital acquisition, member engagement, and strategic growth through UX, CRO, SEO, analytics and attribution, and technical measurement for paid media support. What you’ll do Drive website design and UX optimization using usability, accessibility, and conversion-focused best practices. Design, develop, and maintain website graphics and visual assets. Build, update, and maintain pages, content, components, forms, navigation, and other digital experiences within Kentico Xperience . Implement routine website updates and optimization recommendations directly in Kentico Xperience without depending on the external agency. Run usability testing and A/B testing, then continuously optimize to improve engagement and application completion rates. Improve page layouts, navigation, forms, and content to support new memberships and product conversions aligned with strategic goals. Coordinate with the external design/development agency on more complex design, development, functionality, and technical enhancements. Monitor end-to-end user journeys across web, digital ads, and online applications, identifying friction points, drop-offs, and performance gaps using behavioral and analytics data. Own SEO strategy, including keyword research, site architecture optimization, and technical SEO improvements. Optimize content and structure for evolving search behavior, including AI-driven conversational search platforms such as ChatGPT and Grok . Maintain organic performance by tracking rankings, traffic, and search trends. Implement technical SEO in Kentico and other website tools, including titles, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, redirects, canonical tags, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and structured data/schema markup (including JSON-LD ). Work with external partners and SEO/GEO teams to implement complex recommendations and address issues impacting organic search performance. Manage Google Analytics and related tools by configuring dashboards, goals, events, and conversion tracking, and ensure accurate cross-platform tracking and full-funnel attribution with vendors and internal teams. Troubleshoot website tracking and tagging using Google Tag Manager , HTML, basic JavaScript, data layers, and other web technologies as needed. Optimize landing pages, tracking, tagging, and conversion paths to maximize ROI and performance. Manage and enhance Google Business Profiles and third-party location/review platforms (for example, Yelp ) to support local SEO, traffic growth, and conversions. Maintain accuracy and performance across Yext and other local listings/digital location platforms. Provide technical coordination and backup support for paid search, display, and retargeting campaigns. What you bring 5+ years of experience in web development, UX optimization, and digital marketing operations and acquisition strategies, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and website tracking and attribution technologies. Experience with Kentico Xperience or similar CMS technology, including creating and maintaining pages, content, components, forms, and other digital experiences. Technical SEO experience, including metadata, redirects, schema/structured data, internal linking, tags, XML sitemaps, and on-page and technical SEO and GEO/AI search best practices. Preferred: practical experience with Yext , Google Business Profile , or other local listings and location management platforms. Practical knowledge of HTML , CSS , basic JavaScript , and JSON/JSON-LD (and other common web technologies) to make website updates. Education Bachelor’s degree in web development, digital marketing, computer science, or a related area; or four years of additional experience in lieu of the degree. Advanced coursework or certification in UX design, SEO, or digital advertising is preferred.
