Reporting to the Executive Director of Contracts, the Contracts Manager will play a key role in supporting ABRAMS' publishing operations by managing contract drafting, review, negotiation, and administration. As a member of our collaborative and fast-paced Legal Team, you will work closely with colleagues across the organization to help ensure the efficient execution of a wide range of publishing agreements.

What you'd be doing:

• Drafting contracts, contract amendments, and other legal documents in partnership with the Contracts team
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating subsidiary rights agreements
• Processing contracts for signature
• Registering copyrights for all ABRAMS books with the Library of Congress
• Ensuring contract data is accurately maintained in the Title Management System in partnership with the Contracts team
• Managing the processing of contract payments due upon signature
• Providing internal status updates on open and pending contracts
• Responding to requests for reversion of rights
• Collaborating with the Contracts team to support the efficient operation of the department

We're looking for someone who has:

• 1–3+ years of experience in publishing, a literary agency, or a related field
• A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across the Contracts Team and other departments
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills

Highly preferred candidates also have:

• Prior contracts experience
• A bachelor's degree

This position is in New York, NY, and follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence three days per week.

The base salary range for this position is (50,000 - $55,000) per year. The final offer will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
