One full-time Office Specialist III position is now available at Little Earth of the United Tribes, 2438 18th Avenue South in Minneapolis. Primary duties and responsibilities include: Perform reception desk and telephone duties to include one-to-one interaction and telephone contact with public and staff; answer main incoming telephone line. Assist with resolving a wide variety of customer concerns and issues; obtain appropriate information from customers. Collect, evaluate, screen, relay and respond to a broad range of requests for information; explain a variety of requirements, policies and procedures regarding services to public and staff. Input, retrieve and modify information and data stored in computerized systems; assist other users with problems associated with computerized systems and programs. Generate reports using a wide variety of computer software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access). Write, prepare and proofread original correspondence, lists, tables and other specialized departmental documents. Record and update information (including complex financial data) on a variety of forms, logs, journals and ledgers. Support daily activities of coworkers, resolve problems and/or issues regarding workflow and business needs. Work on a wide variety of special projects. The ideal candidate will have: One of the following: Two or more years of full-time office/clerical experience. Two or more years of related post high school education. An approved combination of related post high school education and experience. Ability to interact with people in the community and to communicate with and understand the problems faced by families in the Native American communities, as well as other customers with different cultural backgrounds and economic levels. Ability to use tact and courtesy in dealing with the general public and others in a high volume work environment; and provide excellent customer service for internal and external customers. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and accept work direction and collaboration from coworkers and project managers and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Skill in working with computers and knowledge of word processing and desktop publishing software (e.g. Microsoft Publisher, PowerPoint and Word); computer software for databases or spreadsheets (Microsoft Access and Excel); Visio; other Microsoft Office products and Lotus Notes or other email and calendar programs.
