Marina Technician I

Job Title

The purpose of this position is to assist managing Marina business operations and maintenance.

Examples of Duties

The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

• Conducts Marina office services consisting of responding to emails and phone messages.
• Conducts property maintenance of the Marina: docks, buildings and bathrooms.
• Manages transient slips for arrivals, check-in, marina services and reservations.
• Cleans and provides maintenance of the Marina's restrooms; Splash Pad, Dog Park, Marina-Dode.
• Cleans toilets, mirrors, urinals, sinks and floors in morning and checks cleanliness throughout the day. Resupplies all paper products and soap as needed.
• Monitors and documents all sponge boat activity; sponge docks, maintains city boats, cleans, and paints.
• Process annual contract renewal and permits.
• Installs and removes Christmas lights at sponge docks and throughout city as needed.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
• No previous experience required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

• Performs light to medium work that involves walking or standing virtually all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or considerable skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving close tolerances or limits of accuracy.

Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.

• Involves routine and frequent exposure to:
  • Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen.
  • Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions.
