Position Details:

OR Lead RN- Tuba City, AZ

Location : Tuba City, AZ 86045

Project Duration : 13 week contract

Shift : 10-hour shifts, 4 days a week, 6:30 am - 5 pm & on-call from 5pm till 6:30 am the next day

SUMMARY:
In consultation with the Director of Surgical Services, the Lead Clinical Nurse shall coordinate quality patient care utilizing OR resources including available operating room, staff and equipment. The Lead Clinical Nurse will also provide the daily operational leadership for the OR. Initiate patient care assignments, direct the provision of comprehensive OR Nursing care, delegate duties to appropriate personnel, and supervise their work. The LCN will provide direct OR Nursing care when required to optimize workflow. Participates in the evaluation of the quality of patient care, including turnover times. Serves as a role model for others, maintaining a high level of professional conduct. Utilizes advanced leadership skills and problem-solving process. Maintains a professional working relationship with physicians and other departments. Will take operating room call. May serve as the Acting Supervisory Clinical Nurse in the absence of the SCN. Follows AORN standards of care and ensure AORN standards are followed in each operating room daily.



LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
A valid, current, full and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state of the United States of America, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.



Must maintain a current valid certification of the following throughout employment:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association
• National institutes of Health (NIH)-NIHSS-NIH stroke scale must be completed within 6 months of hire.
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) by the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) must be completed within 1 year of hire.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within two (2) years of hire
• Complete Patient Sitter Competency Training (upon hire)

EDUCATION:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.



EXPERIENCE:
At least two (2) years of nursing experience in the operating room, with previous of leadership experience.
