Guest Services Clerk

The Guest Services Clerk welcomes guests into the gift shop, processes memberships, books encounters, assists in scheduling tours, answers questions about park products and services, directs guests to appropriate resources, and handles cash and credit sales. The Guest Services works in a team setting, primarily indoors. Ideal candidates will be comfortable to answer phone calls, be computer literate, and able to find solutions to issues that may arise. Weekends are a requirement.

Position Goal
The goal of the Guest Services Clerk is to assist the Guest Services Department in all its duties in a friendly and efficient manner. The position also serves as a park representative and helps to create a favorable impression of the park by answering questions about the park or directing guests to the appropriate resources. When tasks are complete, the clerk will assist the Gift Shop team in stocking, checking out product, and keeping the facility tidy.

Responsibilities

• Answers general information questions in the office and over the phone
• Executes daily register duties such as opening/closing tills and cashiering
• Schedules park activities and guest requests according to availability of park resources
• Listens to guest concerns and tries to reconcile guest issues in a prompt and professional manner
• Uses proper phone and radio etiquette
• Maintains a clean and tidy work area
• Deliver outstanding customer service and maintain quality member relations as needed
• Responds to Code calls as required in the Emergency Response Plan document
• Maintains open communication between multiple departments
• Processes requests for donations, issues gift certificates/cards and Buy One, Get One cards upon request
• Assists with annual events such as the Annual Benefit Dinner, Wildlights, and other special events as scheduled
• Backs-up and assists the other Operation departments such as breaking the Train Conductor and stocking the gift shop
• Weekend shifts will be required
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple responsibilities
• Must have common sense and be personable
• Outstanding customer service skills including conflict resolution and courtesy
• Use multiple computer programs such as Google Drive and Office
• Preferred prior experience with retail and/or customer service responsibilities
• Must be able to pass a drug test, including marijuana
• Candidates must agree to a background check
